Water Treatment Answers is a free service that connects homeowners with local water treatment and filtration companies. We are not a water-treatment company or installer, and we do not perform the work ourselves.

The short answer

Yes. Reverse-osmosis water is safe and very low in contaminants, which is the point of the process. It also removes beneficial minerals, which slightly lowers pH and changes taste, so some systems add a remineralizing stage. You still get minerals mainly from food, so RO water fits a normal diet without concern.
